85 SE TII Swap by the Rotary Shack

Well the day has finally come. My 85 SE TII swap is complete. I plan on doing a complete write up but just wanted to share some pics. Thanks to Robert at the shack for all his hard work and attention to detail. Enjoy the pics and any comments or questions are welcome.

I have only driven the car for about an hour today and it is a blast. The turbo kicks in fast and strong @ around 15psi. Man I am going to be getting into lots of trouble with this thing.

I was waiting for someone to notice and yes it is the alcky/water injection as you call it. It is a cooling mist with the variable control.

You would have to ask Robert at the Rotaryshack as he is the one who did the swap.

I would have to say the swap takes time and requires a high level of mechanical skill to do right. As far as the intercooler I will get you some demensions tomorrow.

No kidding its not cheap. The controller allows you to set the boost level you want the water to start spraying and increases with boost. You can set the curve from mild to aggressive just by turning the curve ****.

Schweed. I was thinking about doing a DIY alky injetion system, but after looking at the cooling mist it seems amazing and well worth the extra $100-150. The DIY kits are still around $250

WOW! thats a crazy setup! What did you have to do to the carb. to get it "boost ready" ?

IS that an actual TII engine? Or are U just calling it a "TII swap" if U don't mind me asking why go with a carb? And not the TII FI setup??

Still thats awesome! Great job!

If you look at the pix you see that it is a T2 engine, and the carb was boost prepped by Robert at rotaryshack. He does great work and supplied many parts for my turbo FB.

This is an actual TII engine, its a Jspec engine. As far as going with the carb its easier to tune and cheaper than than EFI. Robert at the RotaryShack can boost prep your carb if you need it done.

It is a drycell race battery. It is alot smaller than a regular battery and weighs about 11lbs. They run about $120.
