well, i bought my tender blue 85 S from a fellow forum member a few months ago and ever since i took posession of the car, i've been slowly bringing it back to life, as the car was going to be used for a V8 swap and was in a state of near disrepair. i've gone through the interior, cleaned and replaced parts as necessary, i've redone wiring in the dash due to some cutting from a past owner, i replaced the engine, added dlidfis, an FC fuse block, removed the rats nest(thanks Ray), and have replaced all fluids(minus trans and diff) and filters, and have gone over the car very well. the rear end is in pretty bad shape though. i picked up another one today to swap in temporarily until i pick up a disc brake rear end. i'll add the new diff oil and drain and fill the trans at the time of the rear end swap. i've had a lot of help from a friend of mine, eric(schreindogg) and thanks also goes out to other forum members here who have helped steer me in the right direction with the car. here are the pics. i'll be adding better pics tomorrow, as i only had my cell today.













a carb rebuild will take place once the kit arrives and there is some body work that needs to be done. i also need to trace the reverse light problem(wiring in tact and perhaps in need of testing the switch), replace the idler arm, and am going to go through the suspension(very tight as it sits) and replace the bushings and end links. i plan on adding an electric fan, htough i'm undecided which fan i want to use.

thank you. thanks to the wrecked 85 GS that i bough recently , my 85 S now has a good running engine. but dont worry, where someone else gave up on the GS, i wont. i plan on rebuilding it and keeping it. i have the parts(minus the engine). i can't help but save these cars from the bone yard.

 

i keep getting a high end misfire in third at full throttle. its running out of gas. i believe its in the tank. i think, after looking at teh fuel filter i just put in that because the gas in it is red and filled with sediment, that i need to drop the tank and clean it out. i cant have sediment flowing like that.
