Unhappy 85 MPH speedo in 1985 car... Possible?

Is it possible to transfer just the 85 MPH speedo to the later car or the whole early model gauge cluster to the later car?

Once I get the RX-7 running again, I'm sure my speeding problem will be more evident than it is in the Civic. (Got pulled over last night for doubling the speed limit... On an interstate highway...)

Probably won't stop me, but it's just a thought.

it would be hard to transfer it to an 85 , since they have a completely different cluster style. 79-83 should be swapable with little (if no) problem.

are all different ...

besides, it sounds like the only thing that will stop you is if you sit in the passenger seat doubling the speed limit in VA ... now that's what i call "cojones!"

it would be way more work than its worth. Plus it wouldn't help your speeding, my Ta has a 85 speedo in it and I just bury it, so that won't stop you.

How would you make your own rev limiter?

Actually, the cop was in a good mood.. I got Failure to obey highway sign...

Unfortunately, I'd hate to injure someone or kill myself... Dying tends to ruin your day...

I know someone that works with a Fire and Rescue department... He's invited me to join him on a medical unit for a few hours... That may help... Seeing someone split up by a guard rail and several hundred yards of entrails...
