85 GSL Radio and Antenna Problem
I won an 1985 GSL with only 76,000+ miles. It has original everything, including the top-of-the-line factory radio/casette deck/graphic equalizer (what a time machine). The antenna is effectively connected to the radio - push the volumne button to turn the radio on and the electric antenna raises. Push again to turn off and the antenna descends. My problem is I cannot turn the radio off. It is perpetually on and the antenna raised.
Any ideas on how to fix this short of ripping out the radio (although this may be the best solution)?
Thanks for your time on this.

How about some pictures?
I'd like to compare it with my 85GSL with 82k. It still has the new car smell when I get in.
I put in a new antenna (the compatible Radio Shack antenna) and rewired slightly so that antenna goes down when ignition is turned off. that would solve your antenna problem. I have the instructions on my palm pilot, but I have difficulty getting things off the Palm. I'll try doing it thru the SD card.

When you push the off button, do you hear a "click, click"?
