Could anyone give me some input on what you think this car is worth? It has some rust on the passenger door and the interior is not so nice (center console cracked, lousy carpeting, etc.). When he says "sport suspension" he just means new shocks, not sway bars, springs, etc.
Thanks!

If it is what they say it is, no more than $2500, and it better freaking SHINE for that much.

$1200 tops. It's cheaper to spend $4000 on one that's in mint condition (ie: needs NOTHING) than to buy this one and then restore it.

253,000 miles? I wouldn't go over $1500 cash, and thats only if he provides reciepts for the extra parts showing they were installed.

the car didn't look to bad.it has a rebuilt motor and full racing beat exhaust.the only flaw is that it has 250,000 miles.the interior is not to major.the price the 1st gens are going for know 2000 would be ok.

Wow... That aint far from me.

If it matches the description, It's lookin like $2000... I'd get emissions inspection results and compression results before buying though...

It'll fail emissions, I'm pretty sure. It has the racing beat streetport system on it, with no cats/air pump. I know the guy selling it. He's including the original exhaust system with it though, so if you want to swap, have fun, but there isn't an air pump, so it'd probably still fail.

Are there any sort of things to look for that would hint at a rebuilt engine? The guy who is selling this is my friend but when he got the car he failed to get receipts or proof of the rebuild. It definately does not have 253k on the engine though, I know that much .

Heh, how about you come to richmond? :-p. That's where me, ididoth, and onepointone are. There are some other first gen owners here, some second gens too. Another one of my friends has an 86 (i think) n/a. I order parts online. Getting exhaust tomorrow from racingbeat.

I could do that, But I'd feel real shitty coming in a Civic with all those 7's around.
