85 front Caliper replacement

man I hate to ask stupid questions but here goes!

I have a 85 rx7 12a front and rear disk

I must replace my front calipers like yesterday but I can not find any local. I am looking at Autozone and Kragens websites and the freaking front calipers for a 86 look the same!!!

Am I loosng it or what??

I am looking at several parts marked 2065

Can anyone please clarify or kick me in my head to get this strait!!

Thanks

John

Take them to a brake and steering rebuild shop. Having all 4 calipers rebuilt will cost less than buying brand new ones. Also check www.rockauto.com. Their prices are pretty good, although shipping for them is pretty expensive for some reason.

2nd gen calipers are not the same. GSLSE are not the same as lesser model FBs. I get rebuilt from rockautoparts.com

i would reccomend going to the dealer and ordering a rebuild kit for the calipers and rebuilding them yourself. you'll save a lot of money and you'll learn something about the car in the process. if you want the part number for the rebuild kits let me know.

Thanks everyone I picked up a new set of front calipers. I want to learn how to rebuild them the proper way. Just not on my car. I dont want to be that crash test dummy!

And the e-brake can only slow you down so fast :o) or did I forget to hook that up again??

thanks again ever1!
