85-84 gsl rear swap
I have an 85 GS, with drum brake rear end, it makes a lot of noise and isn't the bearings..... so, I bought an 84 GSL for parts, and it has disc rear... what all do I need to take off of the 84 to change over to the 85?

The entire rear end should swap straight in. I believe that the ebrake cables will have to be changed as well. The hard lines for the brakes are a bit different but you should have no problems getting everything straightened out with what you have.

According to the parts manual, the prop valve is the same for all '84-85 models, so no need to change that. The earlier models had a different MC and prop valve.
So, you just need the rear end, parking brake cables, and the soft brake line between the MC and the axle. That's what I did and braking is spot on.
