'84 SE value...?

How much could I get for an 83'-84'(not sure) SE RX-7? It's in pretty good shape... nothing major, usual aging stuff... right now it was 1 blown rotor... how much would I get for it like that? and how much more if I rebuilt the engine?

How hard is it to do the 13B conversion, since I have a parts '87 in my yard, and I have a bunch of 13B engine cores...and would the selling price go up a lot?

If you have a GSL-SE, it already has a 13b, so if you have some 13b cores, you can slap one of those in with minimal effort. The 13b from an '87 and the 13b from an '84 GSL-SE are damn near the same, with only minor differences that I'm sure the folks on here would gladly help you with.

As for what you'd get for the GSL-SE, not a huge helluva lot, to tell ya the truth. I'd put it up for sale in the autotrader or something but you'd probably get no more than 2g with a newly rebuilt and running engine. the car in it's current condition... $200-$500 if the rest is good, as dismal as that sounds! It would probably either be snapped up for a parts car or a project car, and thus wouldn't be worth that much.

Oh, and 1983 never saw a GSL-SE, so it's either an '84 or an '85. Check the stickers on the door post when you open the driver's door... on one of them it shows the manufacture date. Mine's only 4 months older than I am... which tells you how young I must be :P

If I were you, I'd drop the '87 core in, get it running well, polish it up, and try to squeeze as much $$ out of it as you can.... OR use it as a project car. GSL-SEs are the best 1st gen cars to work with since they already have the LSD rear, The better bolt pattern, the 13b engine, the rear disc brakes, and a bunch of other goodies.

Good luck

Jon

Is the car a GSL-SE (84-85) or the Savanna Rx-7 Special Edition LSD with "SE Limited" badges?
