I think the theme is: "I just got my first car, what can I do that will impress the ladies in the 10th grade?"

Hey man, I have spent many hours searching the net to find exactly what you're looking for. Here's my suggestions:

Body Kits:

Clear lenses: www.rotaryrx7.com

Performance parts:
*www.obbnmotorworks.com (also has SPARCO stuff, for interior dress up and racing supply)

Car audio:

Which type of RX-7 do you have? you are goign to find your goals much easier to reach if you were to start with a GSL-SE rather than a GSL, GS, or S model. The reason being is a GSL-SE starts off with fuel injection, a better drivetrain, stronger tranny, and a common bolt pattern and offset: 4x114.3 and roughly a 38-42 mm offset.

Good luck, and post some pictures as you go along.

Peace
Geoff

not true. what if all out speed was his goal? then he'd start out with a gs hardtop like myself
buuuuuttttttt if he wants to rice somethin out se is the way to go
gsl-se does not have stronger tranny, same exact tranny as 12a cars, just different 5th gear ratio
gsl-se? bah who needs em

I'm sorry for not knowing a thing about rx-7's.

My bad, he's right. No matter WHAT engine you want to put in your car, the 12a chassis, in itself, makes your car capable of at least 100 hp more than a gsl-se *rolls eyes*

I guess i'll go back to finishing my current rice project now.

I dont see any of you guys actually helping him out.

Lets not start arguing here guys...There was a lot of sarcasim in both posts above...

Gamble was pointing out that some of the "differences" that Geoff had pointed out were inaccurate. He then made a comment about "GSL-SEs, who needs them" this was sarcasim which can be seen by the use of the "" face. He was joking. Geoff just kinda took it a little personally and the returned sarcasim.

Anyway, lets not start to argue now guys. After all, its Christmas .

Of course!! Where have you been? The 12A is the fastest 4 cylinder engine out there. The 13B is a "rotary" V-6, but the 12A is better.**

Actually, GSL-SE trannies also have a vent on the side of them that the 12A cars trannies don't have.
So, HA!, in your face!!**

**Just kidding. More of that weird humor.

Yeah unfortunetly there's a few auto's out there.

it but right now its a 4 cylindor lol
.

Lets all pronounce it slowly R.....O.....T....A......R.....Y......
But seriously man you got a rotary engine (2 triangles spinning, no pistons going boing boing) under your hood. One of the best reasons to own a 7. I forget off the top of my head some of the really good sites that explain how they work but I'm sure some of the other forum membes would be kind enough to put them up.

What's up man!!! Merry Christmas.

Hey, if you really like Rx7's, keep anything with a valve-train out of the engine bay. RX7's are rotary, otherwise it's just another muscle car with a body. And we all know that muscle cars handle like ****. The light rotary allows very close weight distrabution of the car. That's why they handle so well You can kiss that goodbye with a V8. Rotarys also really like to rev, and with the abscence of a valvetrain, they do so very quickly. They have more characteristics of a 2 cycle motor, but it works uniquely.

So please..... read, learn, aply, and enjoy! Once you learn the power of rotarys, it will change the way you look at performance.

Good luck and congrats on the car

well ****! i need some vents in my motor mounts then, maybe it'd make em stronger

as for your car's model, i think that gs was the lowest model that came with autos. not sure on that. the ebst way to tell is to describe it to us. if its got disc brakes in the rear its a gsl. if not it should be a gs.

best thing to do is research. and then research again like you are lookin for the hoy grail. you really shouldnt spend a dime on yer car til you figure out exactly what you want to do.

and come on now fellas, dont even start the v8 discussion. been done before. a little hint 84rexman, dont bring up that topic til yer serious about doing it lol. these guys go nuuuuuuuuts.

welcome to the club though. stick around, meet some people, learn some stuff, and waste some time

later

hey you'll learn quick most the rotor heads on here dont like it is you say anything about putting a 4,6 or 8 cylinder engine in a rx

they will jump all over you about the weight and handling and all that when they have never been in one and probly never seen one.

www.v8rx7.com if you want to talk about ***** ton motors without getting hammered on.

12A is NOT a 4 cylinder.

Rotary engines are NOT 4cylinders, 6 cylinders, 8 cylinders, 10 cylenders, whatever. All they do is beat all of them . Did you check out that link? www.howstuffworks.com/rotary-engine.htm

I REPEAT.... YOU DO NOT HAVE CYLINDERS.
