I just rebuilt my carb with only the Haynes manual and the instructions that came with the Canadian tire carb rebuild kit. THis was my first carb rebuild and it went pretty good. I mostly used the Haynes manual, and although a few things are different (mostly some of the first steps), most is very similar. I put everything I took off in individual bags and labelled the step and what they were. I also drew a big diagram when it came time to remove all the air bleeds and etc. I had containers that I numbered and I numbered each thing on the diagram. I was actually suprised at how easy it was to do. (hopefully it will run, as I have yet to put it on my car) However, I also had 2 other carbs to compaire with as I was doing it. A thing that the Haynes does not mention is the little ***** that are inside the carb, after I removed all the air bleeds and etc. I tipped the carb upsidedown and a little ball fell out. However, with the Canadian tire instuctions I was able to figure out were it came from. Putting the carb back on does not seem like it would be too hard, (and would be much easier for you if you just plugged all the vacume line on the carb spacer and get rid off all the coloured solinoids. Just make sure you get the oil metering lines and rod put in.
Then you have the choke cable on the top, the throttle cable at the bottom all the way on the right, and then some other cable all the way to the left (not sure what this is), leaving a cable attachment empty in the middle.

Thanx, that should give a great hand I don`t have any other carb to compare to, and I`ve just been told I cannot use the basement here to continue my rebuild since the fumes are too much for my dad`s girlfriend.. but when I find a place, I`ll keep in mind that the heynes gets better later on... sicnec the first few steps didn`t match.. I got confused and gave up on the heynes
