This is the 12th Rx-7 I have owned and I have never come across an issue like this.

When My Running lights are on, my turn signals and brake lights work fine, when my headlights are on my brake lights don't work, the opposite side (Yellow turn marker) blinks for the wrong side with my Brake light( Being used as a Turn signal indicator) (for the correct way I am attempting to turn) Becoming the turn signal.

Now without the brakes being hit and the headlights on the Two Yellow Turn indicators are on steady.. HELP! Never in my life have I Had this I am thinking it's the combination switch (Turn signal/Headlight/Cruise/Windshield wiper switch) but before I shell out 499.00 has anybody else experienced this or have any CLUE as to what it may be???

Headlight on- When the brakes are hit I lose my brake lights.
Headlight on- Brake lights act as turn signal light.
Headlight on- right Turn indicator blinks, when I am attempting to use the left turn indicator..

Confusing enough? I KNOW I'M LOST!

 

Did you just get the car like this or did this just happen one day?

 

I am assuming I did buy it like this or the guy knew about the issue I never noticed it the first day that I had bought the car I checked the lights it "seemed" as if everything was fine- Of course I wasn't in the car with the headlights on and tapping on the brake So I would say yes I bought it like this without being notified. I was notified by some rather RUDE throw you up against the car sort of people.

I guess it seemed I was being a smartazz by trying to turn right and my turnsignal blinked for left.

 

sound like you might have a short in the wiring it happens quite often thats what myne did anyways.

 

This may sound crazy but worth a shot. Make sure ur battery terminals are clean and sulfur free.Make sure to clean the top of the battery as to not have any surface discharge.
