i just purchased a 84 ist gen and finnaly got it running,,,i am haveing a problem thou, seems like it is only running on 1 ignitor the front ignitor seems to be hitting full time and the second ignitor doesnt seem to hit at all...i swapped ignitors from 1 to 2--no help...i swapped coils from front to back---no fix...the plugs and plug wires i just changed...carb seems to be working fine...when you pull the plug on the no 2 ignitor it doesnt really do anything....but when you pull the no 1 ingnitor the car wants to die....any suggestions?????

front ignitor is leading, rear ignitor is trailing. your car will not run with just trailing, and will run rather weakly with just leading.

 

i talked to a few guys about that,,they told me that if the trailing was not working my rpm guage would not work....but it does???? and it does run but doesnt have any zoom ...took it to the shop but wont know anything till monday they are going to do a compression ck and see what they find with it....
