84 GSLSE Ignition Switch removal question

Looks like I have a bad ignition switch, a few years ago a short blew the main fuseable link. I thought this may have happens again but its not the case.

Can someone help me with the removal of the white plug in the picture above? Does the entire connector separate? It's mounted on what appears to be non removable pins of some sort. I just want to be 100 percent some before I go yanking on 26 year old parts that could crumble in my hands lol

Thanks

That white plug does not come off. Follow the wires about 8 inches and there will be a total of six different plugs that come apart and stay with the key switch.

If you are trying to remove the entire switch assembly, there are two headless screws you have to use a chisle or dremel to make slot in th heads. There are several threads on the forum on how to get the switch out.

Thanks for the tips. I shouldn't have to remove the entire assembly. I can physically see the damage on the plastic switch that caused my problem.

I removed that switch. It's the key buzzer switch. I took a small, flat blade screw driver, and pried up on those one-way washers until they came off. I saved all the parts, but I ended up not putting it back in because a wire had pulled loose from inside the switch, and soldering was going to destroy the plastic. Plus, I hate that dumb buzzer.

After that, getting the ignition switch out is cake. One or two screws and its out. You can probably already see that...
