84 GSL-SE Swap

Hey guys. Just looking for some of your opinions. I have a 1984 Rx7 Jap Import that im looking to get on the road. I have also recently bought an Aus spec. 84 GSL-SE for parts and was wondering if you could give me some tips on what i should filtch from the GSL-SE (Mostly just EPA polution gear needed for roadworthy)

Any/All sugestions appreciated.

if you dont have the limited slip rear end in your jap car then swap that puppy

Its always nice to have a spare engine laying around that you could maybe build up.

I though the GSL-SE in AUS was a 12A turbo?

But yeah. i'd use the suspension/brakes from all 4 corners and the rearend.

Should be 4x114.3 bolt pattern too.

Both cars are 12A powered I presume?

If you need to be smogged, I don't know if you could swap over the carb and rats nest from the Aus spec car or if you'd need the whole engine.

Both cars are NA 12a's (perhaps its a gsl?). The jap car has been heavily modded including a 48mm Webber sitting on a bridgeport 12a. No rats nest, or any other form of anti polution gear in sight :p .MSD ignition. and a whole bunch of other stuff.

You can see her here. http://home.austarnet.com.au/lvanberkel/

However it is still running the 4X110 bolt pattern, so im thinking about swaping the suspension at all 4 corners. Is this straight forward job? If anyone could pass on a write up it would be apreciated. The Jap import is running fully adjustable strut top's (as seen in the lower photo's) Will this pose any problems?

Nice car.. Dont know of any writeups for swaping the suspension..

But it should be pretty straight forward.. i've swaped out rear ends before.. The threading changed on the brake lines in 82 i believe. That may effect you.

Racing beat here sells SS lines to adapt later rearends into earlier cars. I am sure they have similar in AUS.
