Its not that I think its particularly bad in a crash, I base that assumption solely on physics. RX-7's are less massive and lower to the ground than the majority of cars on the road, and therefore will do worse in a crash. 15 mph isn't very fast for a collision. Enough to bend stuff up, but not that much collision energy. (The energy in a collision is kinetic, 1/2*Mass*Velocity^2, or, to be more precise, the change in kinetic energy, Initial velocity minus final velocity squared, If two vehicles are involved, its the combined velocity vector of the vehicles. The more a car crumples, the greater the time to disperse the kinetic energy, the less energy will be imparted to the occupant of the vehicle.) This is the reason that I suggest Volvo 240 or a Ford Galaxie. We really can't anticipate or control the velocity of a crash, but we can control the mass of the collision by choosing a more massive vehicle, or one designed specifically to protect the occupants like the 240.
