hey guys, my 7 started making this ungodly whine a few days ago, and for the life of me i can't figure out what it is. it's not the brakes (they make their own ungodly whine), so i'm really at a loss here.

the car has no power steering, so it's not a cracked seal on a ball joint, and the front end looks pretty clean. the whine itself doesn't respond to anything in particular, clutching, braking and steering will all occasionally cause it to stop, but none seems to affect it every time. It only whines while the car is moving, so i'm thinking it might be drivetrain, but i could really use some help here

 

Tell the girl in the passenger seat to get out & walk. Drive away. If the whine continues, it's probably your transmission bushings.
