84 GSL Choke Issue

Ok,

I have an 84 GSL. From what I gather, the choke is supposed to automatically pop back in when it gets to appropriate operating temperature.

Well, that doesn't pop back in, no matter how long I drive. I have to push it in myself.

I suppose my question would be, is there a mechanism that can fail, that wouldn't allow the choke to pop back in?

If I run the car for awhile, and then hop back in to start it up......if I try to pull the choke out, it doesn't lock out......it just pops back in.

So, I know it can pop in, it just wont do it on its own during normal driving.

What gives?
