84 FB Fuel level sensor

While trying to remove gas tank i forgot ot disconnect 3-pin connector from fuel level sensor and it broke right off the lid. Is there anyway to solder it back or use parts from 79 SA sensor to fix things?

Plastic pin came right off when gas tank dropped down

If you can't reattach and solder it, you could consider adding pig tails to the formerly attached connector and solder those onto the newly exposed electrical connections on the sender lid. Add strain relief. Essentially make it an "inline" connection.

I'd buy a new sending unit, they aren't very expensive, at least the one I bought for my 12a fb.
I tried fixing mine and it just couldn't maintain a stable connection.

You're only gonna want to take that tank once in your lifetime! I blasted the tank and coated the outside with POR15, then rattle can bed liner before I reinstalled. What a PITA project, replaced all the lines while I had it out.

Probably more information than you bargained for 😝

Done the same thing, just missing that level sensor to put it back on the car. And every information is good information 😁
