I found this in my gas tank.

What is it? it was just sitting there not attached to anything, so i took it out.

the goes over the fuel level sensor where all the copper looking wires are with the metal that sweeps across them.

Oh ok. Is this why my fuel guage is wrong? It says i have less gas than i actually do.
