84 dash/center transfer into 82
If everything goes right, I will be picking up an 84 RX-7 at the end of this month to use for parts. Long story short, abandoned on rental property by guy who owed owner money and owner is selling to me real cheap, no title and as-is. I've looked it over and there are quite a few parts I'll be pulling from it to put on my 82 GSL and I would also like to pull the dash+center console to put into my 82 as I like the layout better. Will this type of interior swap be possible since they're both 1st gens?

Its been done, but its a pain in the ***, especially with wiring. The sub harness is different. But I beleive its a bolt in
Better be checking the blower box, the climate controls, they look different too
Ask directfreak I think hes done it ?

sub harness
Ok, thanks for the tip. I'll see if I cannot scrounge up an extra '82 sub harness and do some re-wiring then. I'm good with shrink tubing and soldering
The reason I want the center console is because of the better climate controls. I'm not a big fan of the sliders and would prefer to have the round **** instead as it gives a smoother look to the interior.
It looks like the date for picking up the car will be May 30 or 31st! Once I get it over here I am thinking of trying to start it too see if it'll fire up. Once July comes around that'll mean the car has been sitting for at least a year that I know of for sure. I won't have the keys so I kind of need to know the alternative starting method
