84 12a still no start

I have tried turning the disi, and no vacuum leaks. The car will run great if you pull the choke out once you get it started or keep your foot in the pedal and keep it around 2000 rpm, once it drops below that it starts popping and trys to die. I still have to start it with starting fluid. I was told to try adjusting the choke, the cable has enough slack that you can pull it off by hand. I haven't adjusted any of the cables yet, I dident think it would affect it that badly but, as usual, i am probably wrong. It got to cold to do anymore on it tonight, im going to tie up all that crap in the morning. If you guys have any other ideas please let me know, I am willing to try anything at this point. Thanks!

Try some seafoam in the tank, and maybe a little in the carb while its running. Sounds like water in the gas or maybe clogged idle jets

the entire fuel system has redone, ne fuel pump, filter cleaned the tank, rebuilt the carb. floats are set to spec.

Hum how's your alt guage look? Good charge? Good battery?

Maybe it's not getting enough fire at low rpm.

Good battery sits right at 13.5 to 14 volts, right on the money. It will run fine but it wont start without starting fluid and wont idle unless you pull the choke out a litle. This is my first rx, so i havent heard one run corectly yet, I need to know if your car idles high until it warms up or does it idle low from start up. I believe my problem is in the choke, cause it runs and sounds great once you can get it to start, you just have to keep giving it gas.

You should buy a haynes manual. They dont cost much. Go through the fault diagnosis section at the beginning. Any symptom that sounds similar go through the trouble shooting list.
You need to go through your carb with a fine tooth comb. You may also need to check sveral valves. My bet by what the book says and what you say is that your carb has a bleed in the jets or the float is wrong.
You need a manual, it will tell you presicely what to set eveything at and help figure out whats wrong.
Also you should listen to your inake and manifold whlie the car runs with a stethiscope or a peice of hose. If you hear a hissing sound you have an intake leak somewhere.
Lastly, in the winter these cars will always require the choke to be pulled until warmed up. Sometimes in the summer as well. With the choke out it will idle about 2000rpm. The colder it is the longer it will take for it to release. If anyone else here tells you anything other than this send them this guy and MAKE SURE YOU GET THE BOOK!!!

If carb is all tuned I retract the diagnosis. Just pull the choke and let it warm up
