83 track car wieght reduction
ok heres the deal im taking off basically every part on the car thats not needed to be street legal. and would like some tips on other things that you may have taked off and their wieght. so far i have done:
-wieght reduction on front bumper
-doors lightened (those big beams that go across the inside for crash protection) keep in mind i dont need these as i have a 6-point chromoly cage.
-plans to replace the rear three windows,
-plans for firbreglass hood/fenders.
if you know of more common wieght reduction stuff let me know, i dont mind cutting as long as its not structural. thanks :

Here are a few more freebies:
- Remove beam and shocks from rear bumper
- Remove speakers, stereo, amps
- Remove antenna
- Remove hood latch and hinges and replace with hoodpins
- Go to a smaller battery. A garden tractor battery is cheap and works fine.
- Remove all insulation: under carpet, headliner, storage bin area. For that matter, remove storage bins and frame.
- Remove rear hatch latch and install alternate lock / latch mechanism
- Remove A/C (obvious)
- Go to a lightweight racing seat for both seats
- Remove trim (door guard strips) and emblems
Be careful on the fiberglass fenders; I have seen some that are heavier than stock. There is probably more.
