83' multi-gauge in dashboard

yup. when I bought my 7, they had taken out the stock gauges and put in some bull from a ricer car or something. doesn't even fit properly in the dash. I can take pics if you like, but I'm just looking to buy either a used dash gauge, or if they make them, a replacement for it. i know the mileage gauge wont be the same, but w/e

anyone know what its called? a multi gauge or w/e, its got oil/gas/temp/volt/rmp/mph all that jazz. the previous owner of my 83' rx7 replaced it with a different one. can anyone help me with finding one that will fit the dash and look good? i've search for previous posts about this but found nothing.

Guage cluster is the correct name for that. Can be found on ebay usually fairly easily.

What do you mean? A jumble of modular gauges taped together? or something more expensive, like a Stack racing display?

If it it has a logo that looks like:

STACK
STACK
STACK

Make it fit right and keep it, it's really expensive.

Some pictures would be nice. you might end up wanting to keep what they have done depending on what the gauges are.

If it is a home made cluster from something like VDO gauges then i would clean it up and keep it. if they are Autometer or EL or some other 'ricer' brand then i would probably sell them off and do something else.

*BTW Sorry if i offend by calling Autometer ricer gauges but go and find some of the comparisons between them and VDO.*

I second that. Auto meter is junk. The accuracy is horrible. VDO I think has like a 2% error over sweep.

Now the best gauge for the money and is super accurate is Isspro....

ohh, you know what, after taking a closer look, I DO think it is the right gauge for the dash, the guy just didnt put it back in properly. i cant find my digital camera >_< so no pics yet..... (15 minutes later) found camera... dead battery, charging right now. so pics soon. yeah, I think I'll just wait till I buy the replacement dashboard to put the one I have back in right, unless anyone can tell me of a more accurate one. i do have a budget, but not a low one, so I am willing to spend a little money to get something good.

I was searching google for a while for Autometer VDO gauge comparisons. I couldn't find anything. I run Autometer gauges, and it was either them or iEquuis (¿sp?), I wouldn't mind seeing some comparo's, I like knowing how my engine is doing.

Its stock ... someone just took it out to paint it in a ricey color. You can just pick up another one and also if i'm not mistaken, you're missing a black guage surround to make it all fit in

heres a quick a dirty one i saw when i was first looking at them.

http://forum.teamfc3s.org/showthread...DO+Boost+Guage

as far as i'm concerned all you pay for with autometer is for looks. VDO gauges are cheap (Around $30 new for a boost gauge) and lets face it if germen auto manufacturers stand by them..

Ohh and yes i would repaint it or buy a new surround

as far as the inquiry on the iEquus gauges- i like them, if that counts for anything lol... im running their o/p, w/t, and volt/m, with a small autometer tach and a/f ratio...and so far no complaints...
