83 gs spits and sputters

I've been working on my newly aquired 83 GS and so far I've managed to get the limiteds old muffler on it to get rid of the cherry bomb it had. When I got the car it ran really rough and would stumble when starting off, well changing the muffler helped quite a bit (not to mention sounding a lot better) but it still stumble and has a bit of a miss to it. Its only when starting off though, cause when it gets going its fine and has ample power (the nice dark mark in the road in front of my house proves it ) Now, I got this car from a junk yard and it sat for a few months, so I assum that a general tuneup will solve this problem, but I just figured i'd mention it, to see if this could be a more serious problem that someone else has dealt with in the past. TIA

sounds to me like all you need to do is tune it up, and then maybe adjust the idle mixture. but definitely do the tuneup first.
