83 carb spitting out gas... help...
Ok i've been working on my carb. Like cleaning the float bowls and blowing air through some of the tubes. Well after putting everything back on the carb. I went into my 83 and started her up. I was surprised that she started on the first try, so success went through my mind and the car stayed on. I went to check on the carb and gas was coming out of both screws (that have the screens on them). Then i checked the float bowls and they were full!!! So can anyone give me some advice because i'm really stumped on what could have happened.

The bolts on the top are leaking fuel? You need to loosen them, then loosen the center bolt/ and stuff at the center of the fuel lines where they attach at the carb. Then tighten the top bolts first, then tighten the rest of the stuff down.
The float bowls are full cause the needles arent closing. Did you check the float levels before you put it all back together?

Nah, loosening the small screws wont affect this. You just need to carefully seat all the fittings and seals before the final tightening.
The float bowls are filling cause the needles are bad, float levels are off, or fuel pressure is too high. If you havent changed the fuel pump, then thats prolly not it. With what you said you were doing, my money is on the floats. You probably changed the level accidentally. Or you dropped the needle valves out accidentally.

did the taps on top of the carb and they don't overfill from the screws. the float bowls are both at half. My only problem is that the air solenoid (the thing under the main and return fuel line) is dripping gas. I've replaced the gasket to and nothing it still drips. This air solenoid is a 81 and not the 83 like the one you screw onto the carb. Please help what could be making this drip gas.
I've been thinking of removing the air solenoid from my 83 carb and putting it on my 81 carb thats been dripping. But i can't take off the second piece. I've unscrewed the part that has to be unscrewed but the second part is what i don't know how to take off.

The big brass piece is a bear to remove, but it can be done. You have to remove the 90* elbow next to it first. Then turn and pry the brass piece out. I will tell you now its not an easy job first time out.
So now the only leak is from the solenoid?
