OR 82 gsl headlight issues.

I just bought an 82 and my headlights stopped working for some reason. They flip up and when you pull back on the switch the flashers work but the high beams/low beams dont. At first the high beams didnt then the low went out as well. Could someone help me out. I have been told I might need too get a new switch. Thank you.

Use the search and look up Kentetsu with note to headlight switch cleaning. Something like that. He had some issues like that and was able to clean out the contacts on the switch. I don't have that link at the moment. It can be in the archives or FAQ in this 1st gen section.

check the fusable link connection. my friend and i had a problem where the lights would pop up, but not come on. that turned out to be the problem. that may or may not be your issue =o

^ Remove and clean the terminals of the fusible links and the box they plug into. See picture.

If the lights still don't work it's probably dirty contacts in the column switch. You can take it apart and clean the contacts.
