8.8 rear in my SA
I just got off the phone with grannys spped shop and they will sell me a complete rear with 4.10 lsd gears and 31 spined axles includig brackets to still use my gsl-se rear brakes. they quoted me $1730.00 shipped to my door. This is a complete bolt on.. I will be runnning 15" wheels with 25/50 in front and 225/50's in rear. What do you think of this deal? Probably will go for it this next week..

For a direct bolt in, shipped, it's not bad, but I'm a tightass and would fab it myself instead. A complete package does save a lot of headaches though.
I was looking at thier site today and they claim 8" rear ends from Granadas and Monarchs can had at the wreckers for 50 bucks. If that's true, there is a healthy markup in thier work.

Steve,
If I were you, I will grab the early Ford Explorer rear end with disk brakes from junkyard here in Socal. Then get it shortened and re-splined, and at the same time, transfer the mounting brackets from FB/SA. Total cost should be less than $1,000. A few years ago, a local shop charged my friend approx $500.
Just something to think about.
