Lightbulb '79 SA Complete Liquid Line Rebuild

Hello again guys,

I have an SA with a 12a. The previous owner felt like drifting over the boulder at the end of his drive way one morning and tore off all the brake lines, fuel lines, and fuel pump from under the car so i have to redo all of it.

This is what i want to do to this car. 13b swap bridgeport with either a weber 48 or 51 from RB, 3mm seals, ect.. very strong, over kill for N/A but i might do turbo but will run N/A first.

1. If i go to 13b, will the clutch components be sufficient or is there and upgrade to this?

2. What size of fuel line will be sufficient for it? Hard line or Braided? I might go turbo in the future i dont know if this will be a drag car yet.

3. Brakes? Dont really know if there is an upgrade to the system other than doing the rear disk conversion from a later model.

Thanks guys.

1. as far as I know the clutch master and slave should be fine. maybe someone else will know more.
2. Since you have to replace the lines anyway, I'd go with 3/8" hard line. I went with SS hard lines on my car, I wouldn't do it again because they were so hard to bend.
3. there isn't any upgrades for the brake hard lines.

I did similar mods to my old SA. I built a 13B 4port block with a Judge Ito SP. The clutch components held up fine. I did upgrade to a GSL rear end , made a huge difference. If its a street car I'd say rubber lines would be fine. If you have extra cash then go SS .

Yea.. 10.4. I figured that. I found some cool Aluminum lines that are anodized in different colors. Ima see if they have them in SS. Probably do the fuel lines in red, brakes in green, etc.. When i do it ill post with pics so everybody else can see. Any more sugestions would be cool. I was wondering if there was a way to upgrade the brakes with 2nd gen components since they are tho only things the junk yards by me seem to have. Also im going to be trying to pipe a fire extinguisher system out of fuel lines that gets set off by a regular fire extinguisher when you press the lever. Engine compartment, under the oil pan, fuel pump and tank. Ill post that also. It might not be abig deal for the street but just incase i go full drag. At least you will be able to do it from the drivers seat right away instead of haveing to get out and then try to spray. Just a thought. Not in paper yet.

1. stock is ok, if you're going drag racing, you might want a sprung hub puck style disc.

2. since you wanna do a BP, and have to redo the fuel line anyways, might as well do 3/8" instead of the stock 5/16" most of the aftermarket fuel pumps and regulators are for 3/8"

3. do the rear discs, and braided lines.
