79 rx7 diff conversions ???

79 rx7 diff conversions ???

sorry if this is already posted i tried searching but could not find.....
i have a 79 s1 rx7 with stock single spinner diff with drum brakes.... i am looking to upgrade to lsd, disc brakes and stronger axles... the car is running with s5 extend mild port turbo around 300rwhp.... what are your reccomodations on coversions ?? can i use parts from other rx7 ?? thankyou if you can assist..

Ford 8.8" from Granny's. I would say just go with an S3 LSD from a GSL but I would personally spend the extra money on a part I know I wouldn't be able to blow up easily. Welcome to the club and post pics of the SA!

An S3 LSD rear end, along with ReSpeeds Moser axles should hold up unless your doing a lot of drag racing, then either the Ford or a Hilux that seems popular down under. If you go with the S3, you will need adapters for the brake lines to the calipers, The thread pitch changed with the S2 models.

Also a for 8.0 inch rear end is similar to the same width and there is a ton of aftermarket support for them, its a drop out third member axel just like a for 9 inch.

grannys sells the brackets and such to weld on for about 99 bucks i think.
