79' RB exhaust fit a 85'?

Will a RB exhaust off of a 79 fit on my 85. What types of mods would have to be done for this to work.

It would have to be the full System including the center section. The 79 used Duel pipes and most of the other years used singles.

A 79 system uses two pipes side by side, Runs all the way to the muffler.

Other years only use a single pipe all the way back.

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure only the sp exhaust is dual pipe.

I am preaty sure the 79 - 82 cars use a duel setup stock. I thought RB sold the parts the same way so you can replace them on at a time.

the RB site shows just the replacement for the 81 and 82 muffler as a duel pipe. So maybe it is only those years that got the duels.

Anyway, It should all fit, if not use a BFH and make it fit.

To be able to get the pipes to match up, you'll deffinatley need the whole system. The only problem I could see is the mounting points being different. I'm not sure about that one, but I'm bet there is someone else who knows.

The muffler you are refering to is a streetport muffler hence the the two pipes on the muffler.

Also, the second pipe I think Hades is refering to is actually and air exhaust pipe that only the pre 80 cars had. A bypass for the air pump if you will.
