79 Glass Sunroof

This applies only to the 1979 model year as there were differences in the mounting style of the sunroofs through the years.

My question is does anyone have any pictures of an original glass sunroof from a 79 with ALL of the original mounting hardware on it I am mainly looking for the latch assembly in the front (Pics would really help). The steel sunroof has a slide and turn style latch is the glass one the same I am using a grinded down screw at the moment and a little tired of it maybe I can mock something up?

I need some help guys!

you should be able to see the back latch and the front (top of pic) on this . The glass hardware is the same as the steel roof

Ok great start on the opposite side that you are focused on you have two holes (where on the steel sunroof there is a "latch" built in is there something for the glass roof or did they come without the latch?

here is the opposite side , or are you talking about the bottom of the picture.

now that you mention it , the slider at the front ( towards engine) of the glass roof does not have the locking slder the metal one does

When I had it on there it rattled a little bit but I put a screw through it to hold it in just in case.

this thread below just showed up the other day and has a pic of an extra latch that isn't on the 79 roof I bought on ebay., or i suspect the ressurected's roof either . this one seems to be the correct one with the extra securing latch in the middle of the front underside. I have soething like this on my metal moonroof .

Yes but in the center of those two clips is a latch you can see on the steel roof there is a slide latch maybe I can get a pic up on here of it to stop the confusion. I'll try tonight

i used the latch that is up posted up there in the pic the one where you pull it back and down then push the whole moon roof up and lock in place...

The front part of my moon room is held up by a small this rod on each side...I slide the rods out on the front...unlatch from the back and the whole moon roof comes out...

is this what your working with..and if so what are you missing...
