79 driveshaft u joint rebuildable?

the subject explains it all... i'm getting a little bit of clanging out of the bottom of my car under high loads (80+ % throttle) and i suspect a faulty u joint to this. now before i end up with a driveshaft lying on the side of the freeway, i would like to know if it's the 79 driveshaft that's rebuildable... i also have a good 84 shaft, but i was hanging on to that for a gsl-se conversion, besides, i'd have to redrill the flanges to get them to match up correctly. anyone wanna help? thanks

I'm pretty sure it's the SA driveshafts that have the replaceable u-joints. Not 100% positive, though.

I think '83 and later were staked-in.

'79-'82 do it your self u-joint swap.
'83-'85 is possible but only by an experienced shop.
