79 disc brake swap.
I want to put disk brakes on the back of my 79 GS. What year and model cars have brakes that will bolt up? Is it worth my time to put front disks off a newer car on? I have all the brakes off of a 87 turbo two, but I don’t know if there is any way to adapt them. Thanks.

Hi Adam:
There are two choices here that you can do without serios mods.
#1 The esiest as far as finding parts. Is the disc brakes from an
82'-84' GSL grab the whole rear end with Brake-lines these
models come with limited slip difs. The fronts are vented so
grab them too Its probibly easier to just get the whole strut
assembly w/brakes and lines as a whole.
#2 All the same part as the abouve list exept get the GSL-SE
parts They have even bigger front rotors and a more comon
bolt patern if you plan on doing a wheel upgrade.
You will however need a brake line adapter kit this will allow the newer brake hoses to fit your hard lines. Or if you buy steel braded brake lines you can get the corect ends built into the lines
so no adapters will be needed. you can sorce these from either
www.Mazdatrix.com or www.racingbeat.com
Good luck on the swap, Chris...
