650 Holley Carb $$$$

I've got a guy with the following ad, "I have two holley 650 cfm carbs, one has the mopar spacer on it, also have the rebuild kits for them, 100 bucks for both."

To me that just seems like a screaming deal depending on the model. I just figured since there are many running Holleys on this site, I'd like to hear what you think? Worth it? thanks!

not for an RX-7. 650 is too big. Plus you'll have to source a Racing Beat manifold.

A 650 is very big. Unless your running big ports that is too big to put on a rotary. Good deal though.

you could probably get it to run with the rotary if you tune it right but it will never run as good as a smaller carb. If you had a bridge port then that would be about right. I would go with 600cfm max but 465cfm would be better.

You could rebuild the carbs, sell them to V8 guys and use the money for a smaller carb.

Yeah I just rebuilt my carb and had a blast doing it. Just wish I did some mods before I put it back on(mech second, AP mod).

So on another topic I have a question. In regards to the AP mod described by Sterling he says use a quarter to cut out the center. That leaves almost no gasket on the outer edge. A nickle seems to be better, just a bit bigger then the original size. Or do you have to use a quarter since it gives you that much more space? If any of you have done this mod help a brother out! thanks

I had a stockport with a 600 on it, it was a dog but it would drive.
