Hey excitingleopard look at my setup above.

I listen to the same types of music and I am very pickey about sound quality. A simalar set up should make you happy. Just remember just because you have 1000 wats doesent mean that you have to use them. Set the speaker levels where you want them and tell every one else to **** off.

To second RMD and everyone else.. I have/had Infinity Reference 4-inchers in the front of my 7. The sound quality from them was unbelieveable. The location of the stock speakers sucks and even more so with only a 4 inch speaker, but, in my mind, my stereo sounded better than the factory Monsoon in my buddy's '00 Firebird, and those front speakers played a huge part in setting the soundstage. I only had to slightly fade the balance and fade to the driver front side to even things out, but everyone who rode in my car complimented it. The worked well for all genres of music as I have kinda messed up tastes. Sounded good on everything from Simon&Garfunkel to Fear Factory to Dr. Dre. Oh, and I have a sub in my car and hate those trunk-rattlers, too. When I turn my music up, you hear ALL the notes outside the car.. not just the people in the trunk trying to get out.. he he

You guys are gonna laugh, but I've got infinity 5 1/4's in the front and the stockers in the back. I then added a 180 watt cheapo amp to power a small walmart bass tube, which I SEM painted to match the rear carpet. Put it right against the rear, secured it with a bungee cord.
For me and my ol' favorites of the 70's and 80's styx, journey, and Stevy Ray Vaughn, it sounds absolutely perfect! Just enough thump for my tastes, but it can be cranked for the current 'jungle thump' so-called music.
