I found that it was around 17 foot pounds using a torque wrench to take them off. I had no access to a shop manual, so I figured this would get me pretty close to the correct torque.

17 seems kinda low to me.

Section 30 of the FSM gives the torque specs. It does not list the specs for the tranny to engine in either sections 7A or 30. On the very last page of section 30, there is a list of torque spec for bolt sizes.

The specs are different between grades. I don't know what size the bolts are, but here is a short list. Keep in mind this is bolt/nut size, not tool size.

6T
8mm 12-17 ft/lb
10mm 23-34
12mm 41-59

8T
8mm 13-20
10mm 27-40
12mm 46-59

The 6 and 8 #'s are on the head of the bolt. If you have a tap and die set, you can easily determine the bolt size, unless someone knows it off the top of thier head.

Thanks
I think it is a 8mm bolt with a 6 grade, I knew the torque spec would be low, I tried 25ft-lbs and snapped one. Maybe I'll try 15 and lock tite it. Thanks again.
