to 5 lug or not to 5 lug....that is the question

ok so i have a 84 gsl-se, and i was thinkin bout gettin the big brake upgrade kit from respeed but it says u need the fc 4lug spindle/hub assembly along with the rotor for the kit to work...and i was thinkin if the fc's can easily swap the 5-4lug car's and the 4lug fc's can swap over to the 84-85 fb y not just swap over the 5lug with the 4pot calipers and get custom axles for the rear? i was thinkin bout gettin custom axles because i was planning on gettin the miata centersection i believe 94+ because it has a higher ratio for better take off and the stock axles are short by a lil bit from making full contact with the diff, so before i jump on the project i was wondering everybody's opinion on this, good or bad hit me, thnx

You do not need custom rear axles, just have your GSL-SE axles drilled and tapped for the 5-lug. I have been thinking the about the same thing.

The kit works with either 4 lug or 5 lug FC parts.

Do Your Homework

Why don't you learn to read, and search for posts on this subject. Everything you need to know about this has been posted several times, just in the past month. This whole subject is beginning to sound like a broken record. You can get some details on my page here:

www.cardomain.com/ride/646433

I have two 1984 RX-7s - one with a rotary and one with a Ford V8. Does that make me half retarded? I think you are fully retarded - you can't even spell retarded!

Redrilling hubs and axles

Contact Moser Engineering. I believe they are in Indiana. They can redrill your hubs and axles for you, and plug the old holes if you'd like. I had them do the axles on my Nova and axles and the hubs on my Sprite a couple of years back, and got good service with very reasonable prices.
