Aren't there adapters out there that can convert the bolt patterns?

They have the 4x110 to 5x4.5" (2nd and 3rd gen bolt pattern), but I haven't seem them have a listing for 4x114.3 or 100

You can get any bolt patern adapters you want. Just search ebay, there is numerous people on there making and selling them. I have been using some 4*110 to 4*100 adpaters for a couple years now.

I have a pair from my Rx2. I got them made, they were $80 each. I got them thru Upgrade Motoring in Northridge, Ca (www.upgrademotoring.com, (818) 998-6005). I am actually selling the pair, PM me if you are interested. BTW they are 4x110 to 4x114.3, one inch adapter.

The only problem I had with them was they would not work with the stock lugbolts. Had to get some screw in studs, but they where only about a buck a peice.
I never had a problem with them coming loose, the car road smooth even at the big end in the 1/4 mile at 125mph plus.
I was only running them in the front since the swap to a ford 8.8" rear end, but I always had falken azenies on it and I always took turns hard.

I have since even bought another set for my starlet

http://airbagit-store.com/product_category.asp?id=513 here you go, these are pretty decent quality and not a bad price(starting @49.95) and you can get them in just about combination you can think of
