The 40th anniversary stamp set arrived from Japan!

Had to beg a friend from Japan to get it sent to a friend in the country, then mailed to her, and delivered to me

Smaller than a matchbox car.

The one sitting under the monitor in the top left of the photo is a 1:24 Revell kit I assembled and painted a couple years ago.

That is really cool.

I was recently over at my parents house and saw a Toyota Owners Manual on their shelf and was drawn to it. As soon as I opened the front cover, there was the 1984 Mazda RX7 Buyer's Brochure that my dad studied while he was shopping for the -SE that I now own and DD. What are the odds of that?

Very cool to have this kind of nostalgia around our cars.

That's how I found it.

Then I asked for a favor from a friend.

The little model car is really nice. Good detail, real nice finish. I will probably never take it out of its box though

thanx for that link. i also checked that "has already celebrated" link, lots of stuff to be had. never imagined i'd have that "gotta have" thought about a set of plates.

I've kept a few magazine ads in frames and I have that hardcover RX7 coffee table book that came out like 17 years ago. I also found a SA22 hot wheels at the grocery store and bought it. I have a little worthless collection of nostalgia

That's an amazing set!! I remember seeing an article on the stamp set before it was released and wondering if there was a way to obtain it. Well, having connections in Japan sure does help. I think its a beautiful display piece! Thank you for sharing!

FYI pretty sure these stamp sets are still available. I ordered one through a contact in Japan last week.
