Had to beg a friend from Japan to get it sent to a friend in the country, then mailed to her, and delivered to me :)

That is massive cool! I so hate you right now. :)

What scale is that?

cpt_gloval 10-17-18 06:39 PM

Smaller than a matchbox car.

The one sitting under the monitor in the top left of the photo is a 1:24 Revell kit I assembled and painted a couple years ago.

Very nice!

rxtasy3 10-17-18 11:12 PM

that's so awesome. how can we get one?

LongDuck 10-17-18 11:46 PM

That is really cool.

I was recently over at my parents house and saw a Toyota Owners Manual on their shelf and was drawn to it. As soon as I opened the front cover, there was the 1984 Mazda RX7 Buyer's Brochure that my dad studied while he was shopping for the -SE that I now own and DD. What are the odds of that?

Very cool to have this kind of nostalgia around our cars.

That's how I found it.

Then I asked for a favor from a friend.

The little model car is really nice. Good detail, real nice finish. I will probably never take it out of its box though :)

thanx for that link. i also checked that "has already celebrated" link, lots of stuff to be had. never imagined i'd have that "gotta have" thought about a set of plates.

Those aren't plates, those a Doritos bowls. I'll let myself out.

cpt_gloval 10-18-18 07:32 PM

If I got the plates, i'd serve doritos in em.

I've kept a few magazine ads in frames and I have that hardcover RX7 coffee table book that came out like 17 years ago. I also found a SA22 hot wheels at the grocery store and bought it. I have a little worthless collection of nostalgia :)

Jeff20B 10-18-18 11:50 PM

I have a micromachines SA.

That's an amazing set!! I remember seeing an article on the stamp set before it was released and wondering if there was a way to obtain it. Well, having connections in Japan sure does help. I think its a beautiful display piece! Thank you for sharing!

KYPREO 10-23-18 08:52 PM

FYI pretty sure these stamp sets are still available. I ordered one through a contact in Japan last week.

KYPREO 11-15-18 03:12 AM

Woohoo, got mine today! I love it. Pics here: http://www.ausrotary.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=251155
