Question 4.44 rearend / adapter for speedo.

My rearend is in the shop. Its an 82 gsl lsd. I'am having 4.444 gears swapped in. The car is also an 82 gs. I changed out the speedo for the 130 mph from an 83 last spring. The tranny is the stock 82 5speed. Is there any way to recalibrate the speedo?, or does anyone sell an adapter to go between the tranny and speedo cable. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. My favorite question is: What kind of turbo do you have? My replied: Its a Holley 550.

To calibrate the speed-o after the gear change your gonna have to take it to a shop that re-calibrates those things. I don't think a 'kit' is sold for that,,,,'yet'

The problem with re-calibrating the speedo is that I don't think it works on the odometer so your milage will read more than it actually is.

When I installed 4.44's I had a ratio box made up to go between the cable and gearbox. That's the best way to go. Make sure they take into acount your tyre size as well.

the speedo cable feeds the speedo and odo. Recal one also recals the other.

disconnect the speedo cable and neither works.

Obviously. I meant that simply modifying the actual speedo to read right won't fix the odo readings. That's why the ratio box is the best way to go.
