35 to 50 driveline vibration
Would a bad tranny mount cause a vibration at 35 to about 50?
The vibration feels like a U joint going out, but the vibration is only
the 35 to 50 range. This is a first gen 5sp.
Thanks troops.

I had a mystery vibration similar to that and it disappeared when I replaced the water pump. I guess the WP bearing was so worn that the WP vibration made the whole engine vibrate. That WP was only about 6 months old, too, but the mechanic had overtightened the fan belt so it wore out prematurely and pretty soon my engine was vibrating and overheating. I replaced the WP myself one evening (including the seemingly obligatory helicoil fix for the broken thermostat cover stud) and adjusted the fanbelt tension as spec'ed in the FSM (16mm play, IIRC).
I had looked at all the engine and transmission mounts and ujoints, which were all OK, for the cause of the vibration before the overheating forced me to change the WP and, incidentally, solve my vibration problem.
