Dude...You need to study RX-7's alot more before you can even think of taking on such a project. It is not for the timid, newbie, or cheapo.

In 84 they had the GSL - 1st Gen Body.
In 86 they had the GXL - and it is the 2nd GEN Body!!

So, what the hell DO you have?

The Sticky Links in the 1st Gen Forum is for all 1st Gen's, from SA's to GSL-SE's (79-85). It's just easier with a GSL-SE.

If you have a 2nd Gen (86-92) then you need to ask in the 2nd Gen Forum. I REALLY suggest that you look through their archives, and do many searches before you ask them questions that have been asked a thousand times. If you do, One of their typical responses is:

you have a 12a if you have a GSL. The guy from austrailia sound like he knows his stuff, and his idea will set you back as much,if not more, then a T2 (that's a second gen, 88-91, turbo motor) conversion.

You really need to read a ton more and do a few hundred more searches before you start thinking about tearing into your motor. One should have a idea of what motor one has before you try to turbo it.

can we refrain from the lax in grammar and try to use proper spelling, if you expect people to answer (which they probably won't based on the presentation of your seemingly endless intelect), the GSL-SE was the first car introduced with the 13b (in north america) not sure what the first model was in japan and australia.

If you have a 12a you have a GSL, it's really easy to see, open your hood (you do know where that handle is right?) and look on the sparkplug side of the engine (the big thing that makes you car go) and you should see the badges on the rotor houseings (the ones in-between the front, intermediary and the back housings (coincidently, they house the rotors). On the top it will say "MAZDA 12a" or "MAZDA 13b" if it says the first one, you have a 12a engine, if it says 13b, then you have the 13b engine... seems simple enough right?

also, you might want to purchase a few manuals, the haynes manual is a good one, and anything written or co-authored by Jim Downing (the north american RX-7 god). These manuals are the best resource for rotary engine design, manipulation and customization.
