3" exhaust pipe under differential any done it?

im going to get some 3" exhaust pipe done in the morning and im looking at doing the best/cheapest thing. i think if the guy uses the pipe bender it will reduce the pipe to 2.5" ish as it will get crushed... so if he dose it under the diff it wont get crushed. i got a felling it would cost me an arm and a leg to get him to weld it like it should be.... let me know if you guy have tryed this and if it worked!! thanks

Under the diff?? Going to be some clearance issues for sure. If its that big a deal, why don't you go out the side ahead of the rear wheel?

i wouldent recommend it..why? cause its going to be an eye sore as your going to be able to see it from any angle. do it right the first time..unless your okay with the eye sore then by all mean's.

I have seen it done before, and unless your just using the car for the drag strip, I don't see the point. The minimal loss of smooth flow going over the axle will never be felt or even seen on the dyno. Unless your shooting for 500+ rwhp

I did a 3" exhaust....RB Header to Borla muffler....then came out and dumped right in front of the axle. I like it!

ya i Guss thats true..... hum thanks for all your inputs. we shall have to bed her... i guss we could do a dual 2.5" side by side in a collector type thing then back to one its lots of work but.. like you say that little curve should not effect it much.

You can fit 3" over the axle just fine. Just buy some 3" mandrel bends if he can't bend it without crushing it.

I wouldn't mind going under the axle, simply because if I go over any bump or pothole doing moderate speed the rear end would hit my exhaust.

I have a 3" exhaust made up of mandrel bends, and it's routed over the rear axle housing. My car rides very low, and there is no interference, even at full compression of the jounce bumpers.

I have seen systems that route beneath the axle. Do a search. If you take that route, you might want to set up a joint just ahead of the axle, so you won't have to remove the entire exhaust system to drop the axle.

i went 3" under.

you still need to bend if you go under, but not much. ground clearance isnt a problem so far, they tucked it up pretty well. its about like having a really big sway bar.

I've done 3" over and under the axle multipule times. I like it better under the axle personally. It has been dome hundreds of times did you try searching before you posted?

My old exhaust setup now sold was under axle.

And My turbo car was 3" under axle. I prefer it to going over. I've never had an under axle that made any noise, but noone can seem to get an over axle to not bump around on ****... My current setup is over axle, I will never go over again.
