2nd gen PS swap

Has anybody swapped the power rack and pinion setuip from a FC into a FB?

i've been searching the archives, and haven't come up with anything.

I'm just wondering how much modification is involved, since my 82 GS has manual steering, so here are my questions.

A Walkthrough would be tit's

Its been done. Lots of fab work. I have yet to see a write up on this. I have tossed the idea around, as I have a complete front subframe from a S5, suspension and all. Maybe I'll attempt it on my parts car, that way if I screw up, no biggie haha.

+1 on "a walkthrough would be tit's"

they do??? I'm getting my parts together for my FB/C conversion. I like the option of dropping a FC engine in my FB with no mess or fuss.....cabling excluded.

The only way to use FC steering is to swap the whole subframe. I keep hearing rumors about the REspeed kit, care to give us any more clues on what Billy is planning on using or what?

If REspeed comes out with something that works and works good, I will be highly impressed.

And though I've not a lot of doubt about them coming out with something, I'd still love to see it sooner than later.

I don't doubt what Billy will come out with as I've heard nothing but great things about him, all I am saying is that it just seems abnormal that someone today would want to do something for cars that died yesterday, and make our tuning experiences a bit easier.

Not to mention there isn't nearly as much money in building parts for our first gens and second gens as what there would be if you were going out and making things for third gens and Rx8's and what have you.

Of course if I were going to do something like start a business surrounding itself with parts for cars, I would stick with cars I love and not the ones that would bring in the most amount of money as well.

see I have 4 designs for new front break hubs and spindals I would rather spend lots of money and time and make a high quality product and sell them for first gen only and never make one for second or third gen RX's. Why because I love the FB's and that is what I drive work on and tell my friends about. Sure got to love the rotary in anything that has wheels but the FB rx7 is a vision of art in my eyes. But that is why there my eyes and not yours you want to start yet another honda performance shop that sells the same old over the shelf bolt on crap and make money at it right on that is your cup of tea but deffinatly not mine and I'm pretty sure deffinatly not Respeeds bussiness plan.

damn spelling sorry guys
