2nd gen coil pack
I can't find an answer through searching, but I got to ask. Is the other coil pack w/ignitor in a second gen RX7 useful at all? I for some reason had this thought in my head that i could use them as coils in my first gen. i was a little doped up on cold medicine as my head is full of muck, and was angry at the reason i'd gone to pick a part - never pull a starter on a 1998 chevy lumina. It's all right there plain as day, but damn it's a pain. Remember to bring the right tools, too.Ignore the blue circle, that was just the best picture I found of the coil pack.

But did I waste my money on this? For some reason i think I did....
.....I did nab all 4 plugs which look new and are fortunately NGK's, a set of damn near new plug wires, and the oil filler cap, too. Happy about that at least

The popular swap is the leading coil pack, not sure about the trailing shown in that pic.
Search 2gdfis, thats probably what youre thinking about. Also the "transistor trick" is a popular companion upgrade.
http://smnc.ca/hosted/2gdfis/ is the basic idea.
Might still work, although I have no experience using the seperated trailing coils

If you got the trailing, its pretty useless to you. The leading can be used without its
internal igniter hooked up to implement a wasted spark ignition using the existing
ignitors. Its a better solution than stock but will eventually burn out t he stock
ignitors. I used it for a 2 or 3 years. I now run the TFIDFIS which is linked in my
signature. You can get all the parts you need at the junkyard easily.
