Question 2nd gen coil directfire with msd?

Hey guys just a quick question. I'm running a directfire with a 2nd gen coil along with an msd box on the leading plugs. I eliminated the stock leading igniter and is using the msd to fire the coil. My question is do I still need to use the resistor on the 2nd gen coil? I dont have it hooked up now. I always thought that the we only use them when running the stock igniter. Just need to clarify coz the last thing I need is to burn out my coil.

Thanks, Ed

You have to clip wires coming out from FC igniter to the FC coils. Use the "coil only".

You don't need to use the resistor with an MSD.

aaahhh just the guys I was hoping to chime in. I guess I'll leave it as is until I get my hands on a respeed 3 coil holder and run 3 individual coils. Thanks brothers!
