2nd gen 13b into 1st gen 13b gslse

i have 1984 gslse 13b f i . the motor siezed. i got one from a friend of mine, except it is from an 1988 rx7 automatic. i looked at the motor last night and noticed that the accelerator cable(thtottle) is in a different location. can i swap my intake onto that motor (will it line up) ? any other advise on this job will be appreciated. i believe i have to change the oil pan, and counterweight.

Welcome to the Forum. At the top of the page there are several "stickies". One of them is the FAQ. In it you will find info on swapping a Tll 2nd gen engine into a 12A or GSLSE. Swapping a NA 2nd gen is mostly the same stuff without the turbo related mods. If you have more questions after reading the FAQ people will be glad to help.

Factory Service Manuals can be downloaded here.

You could swap you SE intake onto the FC engine or you could just use the FC intake.

https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/s4-manafold-swap-complete-749845/

The above is a write up using a S4 intake on a SE.

Oil pan and front cover from your SE need to go on the FC engine.
Remove the rear counterweight or buy a lightened steel flywheel and use the counter weight with the lightened steel flywheel.

You are either going to have to get the stock flywheel that matches your engine or use the recommendation above.

Your clutch components and transmission will bolt up.

Yeah im putting in an s4 n/a motor into my 85 gsl-se....swap over the s3 intake, front cover, oil pan, distributor, rats nest, exhaust manifold. Im not going to have an air pump or a/c...gutting the stock cat on the car. I will be getting the exhaust totally redone pretty soon after that..along with an RB header.

Also since the motor was an auto....like rx7dr. stated...you will have to change the flywheel...i would just go with a lightweight steel one or aluminum if you got the cash.
