i have a 79 SA w/ 99k miles all original and completely stock

a whopping 19.4mpg (234/tank) after switching to 10w40 castrol GTX.

I short shift. Sometimes 1, 2, 4. Others 1, 3, 5.

I was experimenting w/ staying in 4th gear as much as possible ( 1:1, supposedly less loss in tranny )
Also would love to be able to keep her around peak torque, but I know the carb is not in tip top shape. And its also a thermal reactor model so theyre jetted a little richer than the 12a catalyzed models.

I usually got about 16-17mpg (180-200 per tank)

recently ive been getting 180-200 miles(20mpg mostly 60-65 mph highway driving) and 140 miles for city driving. summer time driving with no a/c is hard though, gets to around 85-90 degrees over here and sitting in traffic is no fun.
mods are street port, headers, full rb exhaust, holley 465 carb w/ red pump, and a crappy tune haha.

That's $2.40 for an Imperial Gallon, not a US Gallon. With the current exhange rate, that's about $7.27 per US gallon. I'm lucky to get 150 miles out of a tank in my SA but I drive 100% city, it's a 4 speed car, RB exhaust and power pulse air box, and a Direct Fire ignition. I need to double check my plugs and see how they look. I still need to replace my fuel filter and check out the trans a diff fluids

When I brought my FB up to school (550 mile trip), cruising on the highway I was getting 28mpg, and then when I hit the UP of Michigan, it dropped hard because my room mate and I were having some fun.

92k mile 1985 base
Magnacore 10mm wires
fresh NGK plugs
No air pump
FMOC
RB SP (non-collected) exhaust
RB springs
Tokico Illumina front
Tokico Blue rear
185/70R13's on + rims
full interior
e-fan

When I had my Holley Blue/-6 lines/RB Holley 465/MSD Blaster 2's on my old FB with no interior I averaged 24mpg highway.

Actually, it is $2.40 per liter. That is just over $9.00 per US gallon (3.78 l/gal).

He said gallons and that fuckered me up LOL. It's actually $8.47(if you round up) per gallon if I did the math right. 1 Euro is equal to $1.5914 USD.

Why are you using Euros? He is in the UK (pounds).

Based on the $2.40 per liter (close to the exchange rate, didn't double check), I get $9.07xx per US gallon.

I was in London a little under 2 years ago. At the time, it was just under £1 per liter. In France, it was about 1.40 Euro/liter.

You all Suck at life! he didn't say liter. Petrol is sold in Imperial Gallons in the UK not Liters, and they use the Great Birtish pound, not euros.
1.21 GBP = 2.41292 USD
1 gallon [UK] = 1.2009499255 gallon [US, liquid]
a.k.a. they're paying $2.89 USD per US gallon.

Sorry, Hyper. I have to disagree. They do use the GBP, but gas is indeed sold by the liter. I have been there..have you? And he did say per liter (litre) in his later post.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand!

With the 12A streety, Modded Hitach....Direct Fire....nearly all street driving...I get nearly 220 a tank. That's some granny + some fun.

It's a rotary. Better than those "bros" and their raised turbo diesel trucks at over $5 a gal, nailing it off every light so they can hear their **** spoolin'
