2 years sitting
Did the atf thing. put a full bottle down the pipe. cranked a few times as i put it in and let sit for 2 days. Started it and it looked like the steel plants smoke stack a full bore. Ran it for about five minutes at about 2000 rpms. When I let it idle it was still blowing white smoke like mad and there was a liquid that came out of the tail pipe the snow was also brown and there wer drops all over it under the pipe. Is that bad?
I am also having a problem with the plugs I tightened all four down pretty good and after running it t1 and L2 were loose again
any advice would be apreciated.

Dude!!! a whole quart? ROFLMMFAO!!!!!!!!!
I wish could see that thing in action, lol. No but seriously, I would be worried about the heat exchanger soaking up the atf and igniting itself. I think it's the heat exchanger anyways. I had this happen with gasoline once on a flooded car. The raw fuel got soaked all around the pipe with the cloth wrap on it and ended up igniting itself as soon as the exhaust got hot.

kinda late now hopefully i didn't mess anything up.
the reason i'm asking is cause i lucked out this time, I had an 82 rx back about 6 years ago and none of the scrap yards around here had anything for me. Now one scrap yard has 3 1stgens and a 2nd gen.
the first gens are pretty much all there and the 2nd gen doesnt have an engine.
I want to hit them up for parts and try to upgrade what I can from the newer cars.
If anybody knows what is interchangeable and what i should grab while i can let me know.
Got the name from one of those battle bot shows, can't remember which one. My GF and I cracked up when they interviewed one guy who won his third giant nut.
I was hillarious they went to his house and he showed off his nuts. They said it just like that in the interview lol!
and the rest is history

The dizzy and alternator are bolt on upgrades for the older 79-80 cars. Both are worthwhile, as the 81-85 electronic dizzys are superior to the earlier 79 points and 80 elec. The alternator from 81-85 also eliminates the external voltage regulator from the older 79-80 model. Note that if you replace the dizzy, you need some ignition coils from the later car as well, because the '79 coils are insufficient to the task. (I'm not sure about the '80 coils) Regarding the motor swap, it has been done, by members of the forum, but I don't recommend it. The 12A rotary is capable of significant power on the cheap if you're willing to do some legwork yourself. As a rotary, the RX-7 is a car with unique character. As a 5.0, it's like millions of other Detroit iron-powered cars, albeit better looking than most.

Oh yeah one other thing. I have a 5.0 stang that needs bodywork real bad, and the rx's body is almost perfect.
should I swap and would you guys still talk to me if I did?
